Welcome to fitness 'n' fun journal!

Our blog to keep all of us on track with eating well and exercising in preparation for my family loves fitness, eating healthy and trying to look good while doing it. Our blog started as a very personal, online journal, and I had no intention of anyone ever reading it. I definitely didn't think that it would become such a huge part of our life. This is where we share food, staying fit, and living a healthy life. While I try to pack the most nutrients possible into each meal that we eat, I have a number of favorites that are not necessarily “healthy,” but are still delicious and fun to indulge in. I hope you enjoy fitness 'n' fun journal! Everything written on this blog has come from our own personal experience. About Family:


My name is Rita. I am a writer blog for  fitness 'n' fun journal.  We live at Cutler Bay in Florida with my husband, Tom, and our daughter Melissa. Of course, we do have our pets with three dogs Keri, Max and Snowball and two cats Shadow and Socks. When we are together with fitness, but sometimes we are our own expect Melissa either with me or Tom in the exercise. We love to stay active and help each other.
The recipes I post are what my family and I are eating day in and day out. And, of course I only post the good ones that get rave reviews! We attribute this blog to helping us find balance and sanity in our everyday life and introducing us to amazing friends.

Rita:

I'm Rita – beginner runner, (whole) foodie, general occasional exercise, ride a bike, lover of photography and healthy recipe creation I’m on a journey to lose weight and redefine my previously toxic relationship with food. I started this blog on January 1, 2012 at 199 pounds. It’s bother me when I sees with the number. It’s officially put me in the ‘overweight’ category. In fact it was so close to an even scarier number that I began to hyperventilate. This is what I like to call my breaking point. I knew I had to make a change and it will be good example to my family. All I want to challenge lose weight and good shape of my body and mind which is still live longer. My goal is setting from 200 pounds until 135 pounds.

My exercises are planning with Wii boxing, ride a bike, running, walking, whatever on DVDs, and weight lifting, whatever I want to challenge with my fitness, fun and lose weight.

Tom:

He weighs 199.3 pounds and he didn't like it very much when he saw his weight on the scale. His job is not easy because he spend time in meetings in the varies offices in downtown of Miami. He likes the idea with me about blog and he came up with the name of blog. He decided to join with me for Fitness Family in the City in blog and help him to keep track his journal because it is easy to remember what I am doing with my journal. He wants to challenge rebuild his body shape and stay to loves fitness, eating healthy and trying to look good while doing it.

He will follow eat anything with me as long good health foods and he know that I sometimes adopted some recipes from healthy food blogs.

His exercises are with weight lifting, running, walking and ride the bike, whatever he wants to challenge.

Melissa:

She is young girl. She enjoys running and she is involved with Softball Team at her school since last fall. She is looking to challenges with her fitness. She keeps dancing with her Ballet School. Her hobbies are Chess Club and Chinese Language Club. She loves reading books. She is very active with her school and at home.

Furball Family:



Keri:

She is mixed yellow lab dog. She lost her weight. She loves following me around. She loves to go out on walks with me and she needs her exercise. Her favorite is to spend time with me while I am in the kitchen. Sometime, I made a joke by calling her “Chef Keri”. She loves to pick up the food when I accident drop the food on the floor and sometimes her nose smells food and it makes her crazy. Her favorite food is Pizza.



 Max:

He is mixed chow chow dog. He loves to chase the birds in our backyard which keeps him in shape. He loves to talk with barks. His buddy is Socks. He loves to sleep in Master bedroom and it does not bother him that she is there with him. All he does eat, play and sleep. His favorite food is Pizza.

Snowball:


 
Shadow:

She is Melissa’s original cat and she is a Calico Manx. She is not very active, but she is so kind and loving, and loves attention. She is very much a shadow around the house. She loves to spend time indoor.



 Socks:

She has two colors only, black and white. She is very smart and very active. She likes to fight with any animals that come to visit in her backyard. She loves pick on Shadow and Max because she think Shadow is lazy and Max is wimp. Her buddy is Max because they love outdoor in our backyard. The reason we called her Socks is because her four paws are white.
